Gifts for Teachers...

Christmas is almost here!! The kids are now out for a two week winter break, and yesterday we passed out cookie bags to their teachers. We always include the kids previous teachers as well, it's a tradition that my daughter came up with back when she was in first grade...now she's a beautiful teenager in 8th grade! I have to say we can only do this for the elementary school teachers she and her brother has/had. To include the middle school teachers would be quite a task! Here's the quick tag I put together...

The darling gingerbread man is from Pink Gems and the back tag is again the Meljen's image...love using it!

Holiday Cupcakes...

Only 11 more days until Christmas!!! Went shopping this weekend with the kids and DH, got a good start, but much more to do!! Well, gonna make this quick so I can get more holiday crafts done. To start, I was planning this for the Lollipop Crafts Challenge, but missed the deadline :( ... so went over to Meljen's challenge, and it was a perfect fit! Color challenge #37 is to use red, green, and gold - very traditional holiday colors!

I used the cupcakes trio and holly leaves, both freebies from Meljen's. To make them holiday cupcakes, I added a red ribbon and popped on the tiny holly leaves! Used plenty of stickles and shiny gloss accents to make it all spakly!

I also found a new challenge over at Sundays with Crissy. She has adorable, sweet images, but this challenge is open to use any image with a winter theme!

Christmas Tags...

Is anyone ready for the holidays? I know I'm not...hehee! Today I'm sharing my tags that I made for the Monthly Tag Swap hosted by Kyoko. This time around it was for both Nov and Dec, so we had to make two sets! I was a bit late, but was finally able to get it out earlier this week to my partner!
First set I used an adorable penguin from Di's digis, there are some many cuties! First try at using flock on the hat...I used the MS flocking powder, thought it would have been more fluffier, guess I'll have to experiment some more. Added some shine and stickles on his scarf. The back was stamped with AmyR's Winter Sentiments and border stamp from Recollections line at Michael's.

My second set is images from Tiddly Inks. These adorable fairies are Bah-Huggabuggs, so cute! Couldn't resist to add spakles everywhere! For the back, I printed a Meljen image, a freebie this time, cut it out, colored the holly, inked the edges, and tied it on! Over at Tiddly Inks, this week's challenge is Christmas Caroling..."Oh christmas tree, oh christmas tree, of all the trees most lovely..."

There's so much more to get done before Christmas...
Thanks for stopping by! ;)

edited: sorry the printed freebie is from Meljen's Designs, not Tiddly Inks.

Happy Birthday Mom...

What a weekend...and I'm still recovering! :o Our crazy but fun weekend started with Thanksgiving dinner with my DH's family, then went to my sister's to celebrate with my family...having a small second dinner and dessert! The next day was our weekend trip up to Lake Tahoe with a group friends...there was soooo much SNOW!!! This pic was taken right from the balcony of the townhouse we rented...
Kids had a blast, and wished we could have stayed another day, but we rushed back home on Sunday (about 6 hrs drive!) to celebrate two birthdays... for my two nephews! Their birthdays are actually a few days apart, but this year they decided to celebrate together! I was able to make only one card ahead of time, which I already shared on the previous post. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make one for my younger nephew (actually my grand-nephew...oooh I feel so old whenever I say that!), but he was very happy with the gift my son picked out for him...so that was good! And finally, my mom's birthday was yesterday. Took me too long to decide on the image, but this is what I made for her...

Running short on time, I CASEd a card from Mercy, and the image from Sliekje's...she has really cute images and they are all freebies! Covered the cake with stickles and gloss accents on the candle flames.

Well, I've got alot of catching up to do... and start on my xmas projects!! Can't be late for that!! Only 25 days left!

Happy Thanksgiving...

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! There will also be three birthday celebrations this weekend, my 2 nephews and my mom! Here's one of the cards for my nephew, he's now 23! I followed Club Anya's MM layout by Marit...it's so cool!

I used Jeremy from TGF's Roll Call kit. Randomly stamped sentiments are the dp are also from the same kit! I love my new binding edge punch from EK, and dp is DCWV Rockstar. Added buttons and hemp cord tie, no glitter or gloss this time!

Have a fabulous day! and thanks for stopping by! ;)

Oh Deer...

Christmas is around the corner! I've seen so many CUTE holidays projects and cards out in blogland, I better get started before it's too late!! So here is my first holiday project, and playing along with ATS Wednesday Challenge, a gift card holder! I think I'll be needing more of these this year...just so hard to pick the perfect gift! Anyways, I don't have any of the new holiday images (yet! lol!), this one is from last year's ATS Sugarplums, Cocoa Emma, perfect for a Starbucks gift card!

I found some holiday border stamps at Michael's, and this one is running reindeers and perfect for the tree border punch from EK. I got this gift card holder idea from Tori Wild, check out her tutorial here! I love that the band can slide on and off! The inside sentiments are from AmyR.Winter collection set, and the papers are from Echo Park.

Tiddly Inks' Princess...

Finally I was able to complete this for the Tiddly Inks Princess challenge #29. I used the cute fairy princess, Fairy Fae, and the Castle in the Sky images... you can find these and other adorable images here. Sentiment is from AmyR's Handy Additions set. Used shades of blue and a touch of gold, added sparkles everywhere with stickles, glitter pen, shimmerz. Glossy accents on the castle towers to make it shine in the sunlit skies...

Fairy Fae was so fun to color...her wings so delicate and dainty shoes...  all her magical fairy power will bring special birthday wishes!

Birthday with Robbie...

My card today is for a birthday boy. I tell you...it's so hard to find the right image for boys around the age of 10...you can't do cute and it's gotta be cool! My only cool dude was Creeper Jack, which I just made, so I settled for Robbie the Seal from TGF Critters! The layout is from MTSC, and Mercy is celebrating her 100th sketch!

Some sparkle and shine is all I added, and kept the colors mostly muted.

Have a great weekend everyone. Thanks for stopping by! ;)

Happy Birthday Sweet November...

This week's challenge at ATS is a birthday celebration for Amy Y's Sweet November images! There are so many adorable sweeties to choose from...both rubber and digi, and you can find them here. Amy recently released some new birthday cuties that are available today! In honor of Amy's celebration, I used one of the cute mermaids released earlier this June...Treasure Tempestwind and her adorable friend Eddy!

Trying to follow Amy's footstep, there always have a sweet story behind each stamp and card...Treasure & Eddy are peeking out from the bubbles and pearls of the ocean to see a sky filled with shimmering flowers!

Creeper Jack...

This card was made by special request...from my son! He wanted me to make him a birthday card (even though it was back in August), with an image, papers, and colors that he picked. So this is what we came up with...

His fave colors are red, blue and black. He loves the skulls and stars paper we found in the Rockstar Mat Stack from DCWV...actually more, including the guitars and more stars, but I got to pick from his four choices. He couldn't decide between TGF's Creeper Jack, Skater Boy, or Sweet N Toxic Boy. We decided on Creeper Jack for this card since he wanted me to make it ASAP and it was available as a digi.

"But Mom, can we get the other stamps too?"...lol!!

Happy Turtle...

Today I have birthday card to share.  This cute turtle is from Bugaboo Stamps, a fabulous site with adorable images! The sentiment is from AmyR's collection. In case if I needed one, I wanted to have a bday card for an adult male. So what do you think?

Some stickles on the balloons and swirls. Glossy accents to the party hat and horn, and some shine on the turtle too!

I noticed now that the glue wasn't qutie dried behind the buttons, oh well! Couldn't retake it because the card is already given away. It turns out that my BIL's bday was yesterday nite... so the card has already found a happy home!

Cherish...

Hi all! I have my last October project to share...this was made for a special couple's wedding anniversary! The mouse and heart are from Meljen's Designs digi images... freebie too!

The second mouse was flipped so they could be facing each other with intertwining tales!

Added a bow tie and borrowed a tiara from Tiddly Inks' princess, to dress them up to celebrate a special occassion! Even painted her toenails... hehee!

Found this lovely quote and cut it out with my nestie. Used Tea Dye Distressed Ink all around the edges of the card. Added some Shimmerz to these gorgeous flowers from Joy, and lots of stickles to bling it all up!

I went to check what's the current challenge on Meljen's Designs, and it's to use three different shapes. So... there's a heart, square and nestie die shape. Yup, it's good!

Make-up Challenge...

Hey all! Can you believe I have another post!! heehee! Well, you have to check out the Color Me Copic challenge where the fabulous Kelly Booth does an amazing toot on eye make-up technique. My shades are a bit darker, but I think it came out alright. This sweet Halloween witch from TGF is too cute to be scary...just look at her sweet face! Magic dust (actually stickles) on her hat and broom, some shimmerz on her dress, and she's ready to fly the night sky...

I made a treat box earlier for one SIL, and this is for another SIL's birthday! This is an easel card on top of a drawer full of sweet goodies! Okay, this is the last of my Halloween stuff, but I'm on a roll this month. I have one more project to share soon!

October OCS

This was my first time participating in the OCS hosted by the wonderful Linda and Kyoko. Now guess who my partner was? Kyoko! Look at the awesome card she made...
Love the witch's boot...and the fabulous goodies too!

OMGosh...I was so nervous and spent so much time trying to decide what to do I didn't get to anythng else done! (I made sure to finish this card before any of my other October projects!) I knew for sure I wanted to the MS spider web punch... loved seeing it being used all over blogland! And Honey Cat Girl was the just the cutest stamp for this card! After a couple trips to Michael's, I finally got what I needed to make this for Kyoko...
The papers are from K&Company and KarenFoster Designs. Added a couple halloween brads, some rhinestone clusters, ribbon, and a little spider with the sentiment "boo"... all goodies from Michael's. Hope she likes it!

Last Minute...

Happy Halloween!! Here's my last minute Halloween treat box for my son's teacher. But it took me longer to assemble than I thought! I'll have to work out the measurements for a better fit!

I used the adorable Honey Cat from ATS. Added some shine to her ears, tail, boots and shorts! and of course some shimmer to her leotard and tights!

Here's a pick of the inside box...stamped a skellie on the bottom!

Filled it with some yummy chocolate! Just love the new colors from Hershey's minis?!

I've been quite busy crafting, so more to share in the next few days...

Halloween Birthday...

Hi all! It's definitely been a while since I've posted anything...days just seem to fly by! I have been visiting your blogs and there's been so much Halloween fun out there! I finally got a chance to do one myself...

This was so much fun to make! Inspired by Kim Y.'s awesome project, I just had to try it myself! The image used is from Tiddly Inks called "Cast Your Spell". It's super cute...just love the poof of magic dust! The sentiment stamps are from Amy R's The Best, Big Words, and Handy Additions sets...

This treat box is filled with some yummy chocolate...
From the side views:

You Take The Cake...

Is it Saturday already? How time flies when you're having fun!!  Today I have a card for the Tiddly Inks Challenge. It's a sketch challenge designed by the fabulous Betty Boo.

This adorable cutie and sentiment are from the set called Cherry on Top. I love the cupcakes, but have a tough time coloring them! Just can't seem to get it to blend right. Maybe it's time to get more copics in the same color groups.  hehee!

I added some swirls on the bottom corner. Wish I had some "real" pearl swirls, but I don't...so this is drawn with Sakura Stardust Clear pen, then added Lavender Lace liquid pearls. The pearls came out lighter than I wanted... you know what that means... gotta get more colors!

All Star...

Now, why is it so tough to make cards for boys?? Took me a while to think of what to do, but thanks to some great challenges...I put them all together and got this...
Following Tamiko's challenge, and the toughest part for me on this card was altering the image. It felt so weird to cut off  switch the heads of Dylan and Paul (both from the TGF Roll Call kit)! Even my kids said "WHY did you do that??" Then of course I explained it to them, and "ohhhh" was all they said. lol! Another challenge I followed was Color Me Copic's Challenge #4...take a look at this amazing toot by Amy on straight hair! The basketball is from my son's old sticker collection...which was in a big ziploc bag ready for donation! Luckily I remembered it was there, otherwise I would have been looking everywhere to find a basketball! Sentiment is computer generated and cut out with a Spellbinders label die...the green "ribbon" is actually cardstock! did I fool ya?? hehee!

Wedding Congrats...

Just wanted to share another card I made with the wedding cake that I drew a while back. I wanted to make the cake an ivory color (copic E40) but it turned out a bit too dark...think because of the Shimmerz Butter Cream i used. Anyway, at least it shimmers!

I wanted to add some beautiful prima roses to the card, but then I thought about the envelope...how would it fit?? So I only added ribbon. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use for bulky cards?

Here's the inside of the card...has a pocket for gift money...sentiment is computer generated...
