To Ewe...

Hi Everyone! It's Wednesday and time for a reminder to join us as All That Scraps Challenge! The current challenge is CAS - clean and simple... and here's my take on it...
This is Ornament Ewe and a matching sentiment from last year's release. Used a Spellbinder's Reverse Wonky Rectangles, and cut a couple of banners from the xmas scrap pile. To add some metallic sparkle, used the Clear Star pen around the edges of the ornament and the frame of the wonky rectangle. Found a metallic silver button and some silver elastic tie for the bow.

Here's a pic of the inside...
yup... another gift card holder! stamped with a sentiment from Amy R's Winter set.

Please stop by the ATS Challenge blog to see more from the team. You still have plenty of time to link up and the prize this time is 3 CC Design Rubber Stamps!!!

Thanks for stopping by...
Have a wonderful day! ;D

Here's a look at the back side
sentiments are from Amy R Birthday Sentiments and Whimsy Stamps Birthday Letter Seals.

LC Sponsor Spotlight

Happy Wednesday! Today Lollipop Crafts is spotlighting our sponsor this week, Robyn's Fetish
This adorable bear is called Charlie Christmas Bear, and you can find him here. He's colored up in Copics, but I ran into some marker trouble this time... see the right side of his face? As I was putting on the darker brown (E55) for some shadows, it started to get weird on me. It became sort of oily, and couldn't blend with the other colors. It doesn't look as bad IRL, but this picture sure picked it up! I thought my marker was drying out, but I checked it was good, but added a little more ink anyways.  Has anyone else have that happen? and is there a remedy for this? Would love to hear any advice on this! :D

So back to the card... it's a small sized card... only 3.5x3.5. Great way to use up some more scraps and makes a perfect little gift card. Used Spellbinders circle and scallop circles for the dies, and handcut a small banner flag for the sentiment, which is Amy R Winter Sentiments.

Head on over to the Lollipop Crafts blog to see what a few other team mates have made to share. Find out more on our wonderful sponsor, and check out the awesome prize for the current challenge!

Thanks for stopping by...
Have a great day! ;D

Thinking of You...

Happy Memorial Day! am just popping in really quick to bring you Lollipop Craft's new challenge for the week, in observance of today... With Deepest Sympathy.

Very simple layout, but finally got to try embossing powder on the stamped image. It was pretty fun to watch the powder turn so shiny. lol! Then I tried to add some color with ink pads, but it didn't show well. So out came the copics... luckily it turned out the way it did, and didn't have to start over. Image is from Penny Black, and sentiment from AmyR Sentiment Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by...
Enjoy the rest of the day!

BIG Achievement...

Happy Monday everyone!  Was your weekend filled with happy memories? On Saturday, our family certainly had two big events to celebrate... my son passed his karate test for his Jr. Black Belt! and my wonderful hubby's big 50th birthday! We had a big celebration at home with family and friends, and just ate all night! I always forget to take pictures of the food, but we had prime rib, cioppino, bun rieu (a vietnamese noodle soup), with plenty of sides and desserts! A mini buffet right at home!

So this week's challenge at Lollipop Crafts is an easy one... ANYTHING GOES! Head on over to the blog to see some awesome eye candy! A traditional custom is to present your Sensei with a thank you gift at the belt award ceremony. This is the card my son wanted me to make for his Sensei...
Very simple layout. Karate Ian colored in his Sensei gi's colors, red cardstock stamped with "thanks" as the background, and "Arigato" cutout is from Jenny!

Cameron started this journey when he was in kindergarten, and throughout all these years (he's only 11), he continued to climb each step and grow along the way, to finally reach this amazing achievement! His Sensei says he is the youngest of the dojo to obtain a Jr. Black Belt. We are so very proud of him! I decorated a couple of chipboards with the same image, colored it to represent his gi and new belt, and a congrats sign for his favorite cake... OREOS!!!
Let me just say that this past month, he trained so hard in order to pass this test, I was so stressed out just watching him train. When Saturday morning came, I think I was more nervous than he was! The testing didn't start until 2pm, so the wait was just agonizing! I'm so glad that he performed so well, and I can see the determination in his face during the whole TWO HOURS!
Okay... that's enough for me today. I will share the other celebration we had on Saturday night on another post! Head over to Lollipop Crafts to see more of the DT wonderful inspiration, and hope you can join the fun!

Winter Wishes...

Are you keeping warm these days? It seems like a cold winter coming... and early too! Even here in the SF Bay Area, we have been getting pretty cold temps...and starting to get snow in the Sierra! Well, I've trying to stay warm during my craft time, which is usually in the early morning or late night, with a blanket on my lap... feel like an old lady!! hehee!

Anyways, my daughter and I started making some more holiday cards this past weekend. Some for friends, and some for the Cards that Care drive. DD colored about 6 images, and me just one... and we ended up with only one complete card each...lol! There were alot of "Mom, can you/should I ..." throughout the whole day between her and DS! (DS was working on a LEGO project.) Okay, enough rambling on... here's my card...that took nearly 4 hours!!
This is a darling SOG girl named Tia with her adorable penguin friend! Did you know that I LOVE penguins?! not so much in RIL... but cute adorable images!! I HAD to get this adorable image when I first saw it here on Amy's post. SOG current recipe challenge is to use 2 patterned papers, buttons, punch/die, and NO white/kraft for base card. Followed a great sketch from The Sweet Stop, and made a festive holiday card for Papertake Weekly!

Paper is from BoBunny's last year collection "Winter Joy", a MS border punch, and a Recollection tag punch stamped with an AmyR sentiment. Added a BG button and some twine. Stickles to Tia's earmuffs and along the tag. There you have it... four hours of work! LOL! but it always worth it to spend some FUN creative time with the kids!

I'll be sharing DD cards soon... she wants to finish up on a couple of more. She says it's really stressful to put it all together! but enjoys oloring of the images much more! ummm, that sounds familiar... hehee!

Thanks for stopping by! ;D

Please visit the Meljen's Designs at her new STORE, where there's a BIG sale that ending today!!

This grumpy gnome has been colored up for a while, waiting for me to put him in the spotlight. I finally did, and can you just imagine him saying "what took you so long?!" hahaa! The sketch is from The Craft's Meow challenge blog, but since I don't own any TCM stamps, I can't play along.  :( But I still love the fun sketch... and TCM stamps are on my to buy list!! The papers are from last christmas, but can't remember what line they are from. The colors are non-traditional, so it could really be used for any occassion. Sentiment is from AmyR's Winter Sentiments available at ATS, just perfect for this little guy!

There's plenty of time left to play along the LC challenge, but don't wait too long .... head on over for all the deets and your chance to win 4 images from Meljen's!

Vintage Baby...

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! So glad to start a brand new week...my last week was horrible! Started on Monday, sore throat...then by the next day, my voice was completely gone! My kids were so funny..."so when will your voice be back? maybe a week or two?" hehee! I bet they were glad to not hear my nagging...but it was only for two days! LOL! Anyways, I'm finally feeling better...not yet 100%, but getting there. Thank you for your sweet well wishes! It really warms my heart! <3

Let's get to the new challenge at Lollipop Crafts...hosted this week by Angieszka, and she wants you to create something VINTAGE or SHABBY CHIC! Our sponsor for this challenge is Digi Scrap and they have some cute images to play with. For my card, I chose a baby carriage...

I was a bit nervous about this challenge in the beginning, not really knowing how to be vintage or shabby chic! But after some blog surfing, I'm guessing it's earthy tones, distressing, ribbons, lace, and even some metal. So that's what I did! Hope you all like...it was pretty fun to make (but did take me longer because of my killer sinuses!) I bought a pack of loopy brads at a scrapbook show, not sure how they were used, but they looked interesting, and only $1... now I LOVE them and wished I bought more! I used them at the top of the card with the lighter blue ribbon...so cute! The sentiment is from AmyR Stamps and the paper is called Julianne from K&C Co. Well that's my share for today. Please stop by Lollipop Crafts and see the DT awesome creations! and hope you'll play along too!

Please come back later today to find out the winners of my blog candy!
Thanks for stopping by! ;)

LOVE is everywhere...

Guess who I found hiding. . .Miko from TGF's Roll Call Kit. Don't you think she's the perfect cutie for a valentine card?  This week at Club Anya's Mystery Monday is a gorgeous card by Linapyssel! Here's my version of the fun layout. . .

Using one of my favorite color combos, pink and green, I colored Miko in copics and just gave her a slight shimmer on her dress and bows with Sakura clear stardust pen. The heart and key punch is from Martha Stewart, perfect for the journal paper called Love Letters from Little Yellow Bicycle. Used a strip of hearts from Basic Grey's Olivia papers, pink cardstock is embossed with a cuttlebug folder, background cardstock is randomly stamped with AmyR's sentiment set, and the hearts and stars banner is a border stamp from Recollections (found at Michael's).
Here's a little tip for those who don't have many colors of floss or baker's twine. . .I used a kraft colored hemp cord and inked it with green chalk inkpad. Now I have the perfect twine to tie my buttons!
